Jessica's Meeting

Just a note to let everyone know that Jessica's sacrament meeting is next week. Here are the details:

Date: December 21, 2008
Time: 11:00AM
Place: Roy 8th Ward
Address: 5900 So. 2200 W.
Roy, Utah

Please come and join us.

THE WAIT IS OVER

It's hard to believe that 18 months have come and gone since sent Jessica off to the Frankfurt, Germany mission, but our missionary is home. I'm sure we will not keep her home (at Mom & Dad's house) for very long, but we have certainly enjoyed getting to know her again. She is the same old Jess, with a little more maturity and life experiences. Welcome home Jess!!

The day finally came for us to welcome Jessica home from her mission in Germany. We had to wait an extra hour at the airport, so everyone was more than a little anxious by the time her plane came in. Kate's family made this great sign to let her know we were there when she came down the stairs.

The grandkids thought they could get to her first, but Mom pushed her way through for the first hug of many to come.

I finally had to give her up so that her Dad could give her a welcome home hug.

Jess was a bit overwhelmed to be swarmed by 10 adoring nieces and nephews.

The 11th (Luke) wasn't quite so sure he wanted to meet Aunt Jessica. They became great friends over the next few days, which made Jess very happy. Now the only niece she still hasn't met is Roxie (in February).

We all enjoyed sharing her mission with her, but we are grateful to have her back healthy and happy.

10 days and counting

Maybe she is excited to come home to Hurricane

Okay, so the main thing on my mind for the last month has been a date that is almost here. Jessica comes home in just 10 days. It is hard to believe that November is almost over and Christmas is only a month away. I am excited to have Jessica home for the holidays this year. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving 10 days late so we can include Jess. In fact the weekend of the 4-7 of December could be the busiest ever for our family. Jessica's coming home, Lesli's baby shower, Jessica talking in Stake Conference, and finally Thanksgiving over eating on Sunday. Sounds like so much fun to me.

What a cute pregnant lady and a great mom to come.

By the way, we are getting very excited about Lesli's baby coming in less than 2 months too. She sends out the cutest pregnancy updates each week so we can all keep up on the progress. Our family continues to grow and Grandma loves it.

Our Missionary is coming home

The flight plans came this week!! Jessica will be home December 4th @ 7:30PM at the Salt Lake Airport. We are so excited to see her after almost 19 months. She is still working hard as a missionary, but will finally at least talk about coming home. We are postponing our Thanksgiving get-together until the weekend she comes home. Her meeting at the Roy 8th ward will not be until December 21st because of Stake Conference and Fast Sunday. I guess she will just have to be the Christmas program for 8th ward. Anyone that wants additional information about her flight or her meeting, please just let me know. We are excited to have her home for Christmas this year instead of just talking on the phone.

I was accused of devoting my Blog to only one grandchild, so you asked for it. I love all these kids so much and wanted a picture of each of them with Grandma.

A few more of my favorite pictures we got while getting to know Roxie.

Grandpa & Grandma must be pretty funny looking.

Roxie's wild hairdo after a nap.

Roxie loved her Grandpa's deep voice!

Roxie's Blessing Day

We had so much fun finally getting to go back to Virginia and meet our 6th granddaughter and 12th grandchild. Roxie is such a doll and was so cute. She has quite the little personality already and has a smile that melted our hearts.

Help!!!

Okay, So I don't know what I am doing with this blogging stuff. Please someone help me!! Sara, Kate, Anyone? I need to know how to add color, arrange things, just make this not look like a Grandma Blog (not technically challenged). I thought I was the "cool Grandma" but I'm not sure now. I really would appreciate some pointers to make this blog look better.
